I have Amberlight 2 and while there is nothing else out there like it out there - except within some very expensive film-level fx programs -- it's got definite potential and has a good and customizable (dockable) GUI.The only "con" that I noticed is that their newly implemented export or "Final Render" in v.2 for motion animations does not have decent codecs that can be imported into an NLE/pro video editor (no MP4). The MKV is lackluster. There is no H.265.To really get a quality render one has to export as uncompressed at high steps-per-frame - I use PNG sequences for one can't do so in AVI uncompressed as far as I can tell.All that said, it's a small company and I'm aware how difficult it is to create particle-based software, so I can't blame them for not getting it just-right. It is unique.
